Panama City
Panama City is located directly on Florida’s gorgeous
Gulf Coast, sharing its banks with the Gulf and St. Andrew’s
Bay, just where the Panhandle curves gracefully into the West
Coast.
Most people love Panama City for its location and for the
other obvious reasons – our 27 miles of coastline boasts
beaches like few others in this country: sugary, white sands,
Caribbean-like blue ocean and bright sunshine framed by tall
swaying palms and punctuated by crisp sea breezes. Our waters
teem with thousands of varieties of fish, shellfish and sea
life that amass around our spectacular underwater features.
We have over 50 artificial reefs, numerous natural reefs and
several sunken ships, which make Panama City a famous destination
for fishing, but equally as famous for diving and snorkeling.
Because we are surrounded by water, with the vast Gulf of
Mexico at our doorstep, the safe harbor of beautiful St. Andrew’s
Bay and the miles of inland waterways, bayous and estuaries,
Panama City is of course a boater’s paradise too. Whether
you prefer to sail, cruise or paddle, you’ll love our
6 square miles of water.
Our history as a major port goes back to the early Spanish
and British settlers. Our heritage is a rich one and we strive
to preserve it wherever possible. One such project is the
redevelopment of the St. Andrew’s district. This area
is on track to the thriving center it once was. It is a great
destination for business, shopping, dining, entertainment
and culture that is enjoyed equally by residents and visitors
to Panama City.
The climate of Panama City and the Florida Panhandle is temperate
and comfortable year-round, averaging 71 degrees Fahrenheit.
Nearly every day is a perfect one for pursuing your favorite
outdoor activity or just for lounging on the beach or on your
deck and feeling the warm sun against your skin.
So it’s easy to understand the allure of our tropical
home as a prime vacation spot or retirement location. But
what you may not know is that Panama City is growing as a
popular family and relocation town. Its moderate size, weather
and abundant amenities for singles and families attracts anyone
seeking a relaxed life close to shopping, entertainment, great
communities, schools and parks. Panama City is a “city”
that still has a small, home-town feel. And that above almost
all else is what residents covet. The population of Panama
City is just about 40,000 full time residents in a total land
area of 20.5 square miles.
Home styles are varied and offer something for everyone in
the way of single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, villas
and the like. Communities on the waterfront, the beach or
backing to one of the many bays, rivers or canals are popular.
Smaller shopping and business centers are located near most
neighborhoods, and the larger downtown district offers fine
dining, retail establishments and entertainment venues. Home
prices vary, but you generally get a good value for you money,
considering all the area’s amenities – natural
and man-made.
If you’re considering a move to Panama City, give
our team a call. We would love to show you all of the opportunities
that abound in and around our town. |
